I think Gaia’s Garden is one of the most famous permaculture books available. Every person I know who has read read it stated that it changed their gardening mindset. I’ve read it twice so far, and each time I learn more and more about the book, about how I want to remake my small piece of suburbia, and how to implement those ideas. It’s a great fascinating book that you really should read.

There are a million book reviews of this book available on the internet. I’m not going to attempt to do yet another one. I simply wish to put this post up for those of you who might not be aware of this book, and bring it to your attention.

I’m a cheap person. In fact, I have a co-worker who calls me “the guy who can rub two nickels together and get a quarter”, which I consider a compliment, I guess. I mention this because it takes an awfully good book for me to buy it. I prefer to use the library. I bought Gaia’s Garden after I read it the first time (from the library naturally). I didn’t even wait for it to go on sale or wait for a gift certificate or anything. The next time I was in the vicinity of the bookstore I stopped and bought it. That’s how important I consider it to my gardening endeavors. I hope you will read it and maybe also consider it that important to your endeavors.
